Notice to Bankruptcy Practitioners Regarding the Requirement to File a Mailing Matrix
NOTICE TO BANKRUPTCY PRACTITIONERS REGARDING THE REQUIREMENT TO FILE A MAILING MATRIX
Rule 1007(a) of the Federal Rules of Bankruptcy Procedures specifies that in avoluntary case, the debtor shall file with the petition a list containing the name and address of each creditor. Local Bankruptcy Rule 1007-2 specifies that the voluntary bankruptcy petition, whether filed with or without schedules, shall be accompanied by a matrix listing the United States Trustee, and then, in alphabetical order, all creditors with their addresses and zip codes.
Practitioners are reminded that failure to follow the national and local bankruptcy rules with respect to filing a matrix with the petition may result in sanctions, including the
assessment of costs.
