CM/ECF Training and Registration

The United States Bankruptcy Court in the Eastern District of Michigan is a NextGen CM/ECF court. You must register through PACER before obtaining filing privileges. Attorneys must have an individual account, not a firm account. To file in the Eastern District of Michigan Bankruptcy Court, an attorney must first be admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Michigan,

Before applying for a login with the Eastern District of Michigan Bankruptcy Court, attorneys must watch the MIEB online bankruptcy attorney training video course relevant to their area of practice and then submit the required Terms of Agreement and certification of training form.

After training is complete, register for a MIEB login at PACER. Choose “Michigan Eastern Bankruptcy Court” from the drop-down menu. Once the registration request is received from PACER and completed training is verified, your request will be processed. You will receive a notification typically within 48 hours that your account has been approved by our court. Please note that you cannot file until you receive that notice, so please allow the 48 hours for processing time. If you do not receive it in 48 hours, please email the help desk at cmecfhelpdesk@mieb.uscourts.gov.  

Filers and Users participating in electronic filing in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Michigan should also review the Administrative Procedures for the Eastern District of Michigan Bankruptcy Court, as well as the Local Rules and Administrative Orders.

For Attorneys Who Have Completed Training In Another Approved NextGen CM/ECF U.S. Bankruptcy Court

Attorneys who have completed training in another NextGen CM/ECF bankruptcy court are not required to train in the Eastern District of Michigan Bankruptcy Court. Users Requesting Limited Access in the Eastern District of Michigan Bankruptcy Court

Limited Access Users will have the restricted ability to file proofs of claim, reaffirmation agreements, etc. in the NextGen CM/ECF system. Users are not required to attend training, but are required to register through PACER before filing privileges can be approved. Click here to register for a Non-Attorney PACER account.

Creditors and individuals who only need to file Proofs of Claim or Withdrawal of a Claim may do so through the Court’s ePOC system, which does not require a user login and password. Click here to access ePOC.

Personal Financial Management Course Providers Requesting Limited Access in the Eastern District of Michigan Bankruptcy Court

Personal financial management course providers are not required to attend training. Michigan Eastern Bankruptcy Court is a NextGen CM/ECF court so you must register as a User through PACER before fling privileges can be approved. Click here to register for a Non-Attorney PACER account.
