NOTICE REGARDING CLERK’S OFFICE PROCEDURAL CHANGES

Beginning Monday, October 6, 2008 the Clerk’s Office will implement procedural
changes listed below. In the past, case administrators have docketed an event called
Memorandum of Apparent Deficiency to alert attorneys of problems with their filings. With the
new procedures the Memorandum of Apparent Deficiency will only be used to notify the attorney
of a missing filing fee or of other unusual deficiencies..

Additions to Notice of Deficient Filing

The following items which were previously handled with the docketing of the Memorandum of
Apparent Deficiency will now be added to the Notice of Deficient Filing:

1. Electronic signature missing or incorrect
2. Electronic signature does not match login

If a corrected pleading is not filed within 8 days, an order striking may be entered.

Orders Striking

The following items which were previously handled with the docketing of the Memorandum of
Apparent Deficiency will be sent to the Judge and may be stricken.

1. Incorrect event or misuse of generic event
2. PDF does not match docket text
3. PDF filed in incorrect case

Order to Show Cause

If the PDF for the petition is blank, unreadable or the name does not match what appears on the
docket:
1. An Order to Show Cause will be entered.
