Notice Regarding Changes in Statutory Filing Fees Effective April 9, 2006
NOTICE REGARDING CHANGES IN STATUTORY FILING FEES EFFECTIVE APRIL 9, 2006
Pursuant to a memorandum from the Administrative Office of the U. S. Courts, changes to the statutory bankruptcy filing fees will take effect on April 9, 2006. These changes are a result of the Deficit Reduction Act of 2005.
The statutory filing fee amounts required by 28 U.S.C. §1930 will change as follows:
- Chapter 7: increased from $220 to $245, total fees due at filing $299*
- Chapter 13: increased from $150 to $235, total fees due at filing $274
* The bankruptcy fee increases affect only the statutory chapter filing fees; all other fees collected at filing, such as the $39.00 miscellaneous fee in all chapters and the
$15.00 trustee fee in chapter 7 cases, remain unchanged.
