Voice Case Information System (VCIS)
On May 3, 1993, the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Michigan introduced a "Voice Case Information System". This system allows parties to dial into the court's database, for all three court locations, via a touch-tone telephone.

For cases filed on or after October 1, 1992, the information available includes: case number, chapter, filing date, judge, attorney for debtor, trustee, first meeting date, discharge complaint date and status of the case.
To use the "Voice Case Information System", dial (877)422-3066 on a touch-tone phone, and then follow the instructions for entering the name of a party along with procedures for retrieving case information. The "Voice Case Information System" will be available at any time, Monday through Friday except between the hours of 12:00 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. The system will be available 24 hours on Saturdays and Sundays.
